Publisher KAREN ACTON-BOND is the Executive Director of Tall Ship Millennium Challenge, and has a reputation for getting things done! She has a strong background in the hospitality industry, including operating a tour ship on the St. Lawrence River. Karen also has extensive management experience in a marine engineering firm. She has served as a director of Bytown Brigantines, dedicated to sail training. Karen and her family live in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia.

Executive Editor ROSS TRANT is a Lake Ontario Keel Boat sailor, and a member of the Prince Edward Yacht Club, of which he is a Past Commmodore, and of the Mimico Cruising Club. He is a member and active volunteer for CORK, the Canadian Olympic Training Regatta, Kingston. Author of four books, Ross is a free-lance writer, contributing regularly to GAM on Yachting and other publications. He has been editor of several 'in house' newsletters, including that of the Toronto Principals' Association.

From Pittsburgh PA, LINDA MOORE a talented and creative writer, joins us with her sense of humour and delightful style. Linda's work has been published in the cyberworld and the printed page. You will enjoy her work in prose and poetry.

From Rio Vista CA, NANCY TAYLOR brings articles and stories from the West Coast. Her first article tells of the Balclutha, part of a museum display in San Francisco. Nancy is a published poet and writer with cyber and print experience. She is now a full-time reporter-photographer with a California newspaper.

From Kingston ON, Canada, ANDY SOPER also joins our crew. Andy, with John Clarke, is a partner in Kingston Sail Loft, and an expert on the sails and rigging of large sailing ships. He will be telling us about the Brigantine St. Lawrence II, and other sailing ships of then and now. If there is interest, Andy will also share his technical knowledge with us.

THREE NEW AND TALENTED WRITERS : MARSHA HULL, from State College, Pennsylvania works in publishing for Penn State University.. She will be continuing the Tall Tales from a Tall Ship series. A fine writer, and much better than she thinks she is! Happy you are with us, Marsha!

Founding Publisher Karen Acton Bond is from Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. Noted for getting things done, Karen has extensive experience in the management of a marine engineering firm and the operation of a cruise ship on the St. Lawrence River. She served as a Director of Bytown Brigantines and Executive Director of Tall Ship Millennium Challenge. Needless to say she is an enthusiast about sailing ships. Karen has recently returned to the Ottawa area, to be near her mother, Norma, daufgter, Katie and brother Douglas.. Daughter Mary, now back from Australia as aqualified teacher, was Captain of the brigantine Black Jack, and Rebecca is working toward her Master's ticket while seeking a related degree at Memorial University, St. John's, Newfoundland.

Both Mary and Rebecca were married on this Lunenburg County beach, in August, 2006. Mary is married to Jason McNaught, who has contributed material to this journal. It is with deep sadness that we announce that Charles Acton-Bond, Karen's husband, passed away in June, 2007.

Executive Editor Ross Trant from Wellington, Ontario, is a keel boat sailor. He sails out of the Prince Edward Yacht Club, Picton, of which he is a past commodore, and is a founding member and director of the Mimico Cruising Club, Toronto. He is a member of CORK, part of Sail Kingston. Author of four books, Ross is a free-lance writer, who has contributed to GAM on Yachting and other periodicals. He has edited a number of house organs, including that of the Toronto Principals' Association. Ross is about to retire from a small pipe organ business, and is the Webmaster of this site. He has served on the the Board of Directors of the Archives and Collections Society.

Charles Leggatt of Toronto assists with distribution. Edwin Morris from Nova Scotia contributes poetry. Cathie Coultis from Picton, Ontario. is helping with advertising, Michael Foster of Picton, Ontario is responsible for layout, and printing is by BestPrint, Lunenburg, NS. Capt. Paul Adamthwaite, Picton, ON, provides research support through the Archives and Collections Society of which he is Executive Director, and marine author Bob Townsend of Carrying Place, ON, has a wealth of information on Great Lakes sailing ships of the past.
